E-mei Xueya (in Pin-Yin) or Emei Snow Bud Tea, is a green tea that originates from foggy mountains that are 800-200 metres above sea level on Emei Mount. The natural green colour is one of the nicest ecological chains consisting of more than 5000 kinds of wild and exotic plants and 3000 different types of wild animals. A location far away from any heavy pollution. Emei Mount boasts the unique weather:mist, drizzle and sontich rain-fall and the natural organic fertile soil which have been rendering excellent quality of the tea.
Emei Snow Snow Bud Tea had been listed as one of the imperial tributes during Sui and Tang Dynasties. In the recent 2000 years, it had been regarded as a health drink by the two religious sections of Taoism and Buddhism. In each third month of lunar calendar, before the snow melts on the tea bushes, the plenty of tended tea buds have come out;and the monks and tea farmers pick them up and bake in a wok with gentle heat. Hence how the tea was named.
Taste: refreshing, mellow, smooth with sweet aftertaste.
